Knowing
is Everything
You've
got a big pitch, odds are you're not the only one. Before you
present, you need to figure out your competition, who else has
your prospect invited in to tell their story? Once you know
who they are make a list.
Your Competition
Get
a piece of paper and write down the name of each of your
competitors down the side. At the top write strength and
weakness. Capture your competitors' strengths and weaknesses.
Your Business
Now do the same as in number 1 above but for yourself. Write down your strengths and weakness. Things you really excel at and things you need to improve on.
Review and Act
Think
like your prospect. Perception is reality. Review your
competitors and consider what your prospect thinks about each
of these competitors. Consider how your prospect perceives
you. How can you shore up your weaknesses? And mission
critical, how you can reposition your competitors strengths as
a weakness? |
